Jamaican-born fashion designers Deneisha Latoya and her husband Jerome White launched their new collection at their Brooklyn boutique, Mizchif NY, on Saturday night, July 11, 2009.  Mizchif NY, located at 4920 Avenue K (between Utica Avenue and Flatlands Avenue), was the site for “Shop the Runway”, where their latest line of clothing was on display, as models stepped to the reggae sounds of Chris Howell and Shermain.  Featured were Deneisha Latoya’s evening gowns, funky rock-and-roll women’s shorts, and Mizchif artsy blazers.  After the show, guests mingled with the models and designers, while the new collections proved their appeal in sales.

Daughter of a seamstress, Deneisha Latoya has fashion in her blood.  She left Jamaica for New York , where she has showcased her modern and chic collections at many local events.  She has been featured in New York Fashion Week, New York Cool Fashion, Brooklyn View, CYH magazine, Hype TV Awards, Eyes on Fashion, Brooklyn Fashion Weekend.  Her styles have been worn by such entertainers as Free from 106th and Park, Alicia Renee, Wendy Williams, Patra, and many others in the reggae music industry.  Deneisha Latoya says her styles have been inspired by designers Tracy Reese, Catherine Malandrino, and the young working class woman.

Mizchif Boutique showcases contemporary suits, dresses, totes and bathing suits.  The styles of this husband and wife team can be found there in their Brooklyn boutique as well as many other boutiques across the globe.
