Seems like everyday a new social network comes along that follows the blue print from popular and successful social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Myspace. But with this new Social Network “LifesMovie” we might be seeing the future of social networking. Everyone is carrying a camera to record the significant events that happen in their life. This new social network that is up and coming will give users the platform to share and put on exhibit the life that they live through their videos. In a recent conversation I had with one of the four founders(Chidubem Ude), you will be give you better insight on the new site “LifesMovie” that seeks to take social networking to a brand new level.

Kevo: First I have to thank you guys for doing this interview with 5point magazine, we appreciate your time, we know your time is limited so lets get right into it. LifesMovie the new social network next up, What is LifesMovie?

Chi: LifesMovie is an entirely video based social network that encourages people to capture life’s moments and memories through video. It is basically video blogging. The site advocates the concept that life is indeed like a movie, in the sense that we are the stars, as well as the director. So it basically encourages people to record moments in life, capturing and sharing them as “scenes”. It’s sort of a continuous documentary because it’s actually real life.

Kevo: Please explain the Goals of the site for the average user and why you decided to come up with this type of social network?

Chi: We wholeheartedly believe that we should share and keep track of our respective lives, as we do with writings and pictures. However, if you really think about it, a video captures and preserves a memory better than words and pictures. Video is motion picture, with sight and sound, truly bringing a memory to life. It’s more fun too. So in a nutshell, the site encourages people to record a lot of those moments they ‘tweet’ about, and upload them to LifesMovie.

Kevo: What are some obstacles that you have faced while trying to put this site together? And did you ever think of giving up?

Chi: Being only four individuals working on such a big idea, it can be overwhelming. Considering we all have second jobs as 9-5’ers. I say that because LifesMovie is considered our first job, it’s our heart, our dream. It’s just not paying us. At least not yet. Ha! Finances was probably the only obstacle, but we made good use of our resources. Giving up has certainly never been an option.

Kevo: If you had the power what would you want critics to say about your site?

That they understand and appreciate the vision behind LifesMovie.

Kevo: Would you say this site will spark the beginning of a new era and culture in social networking?

Chi: Definitely, videos are the future. These days everyone has a phone or electronic device that can record videos. Facebook encouraged people to consistently capture and share life through pictures, Twitter through words, and hopefully LifesMovie through videos. When I went out or did stuff I thought about taking pictures just so I could put them on Facebook. (Laughs) So hopefully LifesMovie does the same with recording videos.

Kevo: Is the site geared towards the younger generation (High-school to College)?

Chi: Yes definitely we expect the younger generation to be the first to use the site, as with other new social networks. However, LifesMovie has been made so simple to use that we expect to attract older folks. If they personally don’t want to capture and share their lives, perhaps they’ll capture their kids life growing up. When he’s older he can watch his “movie” and go “wow”.

Kevo: What is the benefit of going on this sight?

Chi: It’s fun! Definitely entertaining. And what better way to share, or see how your friends are living on a consistent basis but through video.

Kevo: This must be a dream come true for you guys right?

Chi: Definitely. Words can’t describe the emotions we feel surrounding LifesMovie. We’re definitely grateful to God for instilling in us the discipline, determination and dedication required to make it a reality.

Kevo: Any final words you want to say about the site or in general?

Chi: Right before LifesMovie was created, I watched a Michael Jackson tribute on tv. There was so much footage of his regular life from a kid to a grown up. Videos of him just hanging with friends, family, dancing, or just in the mall shopping. It was great. We may not be celebrities like he was with a camera following us everywhere, but we all should capture our lives in similar fashion. We go through life creating memories, so why not capture them in the best form possible; video. LifesMovie is that platform to do so. LifesMovie is the future.
