Fashion Show

Fashion. Designers. New Designers. New York Fashion Connect (NYFC).

New York Fashion Connect is making waves in the fashion industry being the only multimedia company that offers emerging designers personalised marketing and public relations services as well as a platform to sell their collections. Established in 2007, NYFC has already achieved
the attention of over 150 designers, many celebrities and even MTV. Amongst the arsenal of services that NYFC provides, the company also holds two fashion shows a year around New York Fashion Week with the intention of having its own fashion week. NYFC held its first fashion show, "Clash of the Coutures" in August 2008.

On February 5th, 2009, New York Fashion Connect presented their second fashion show entitled "Rose a la Mode". Rose a la Mode celebrated the rise of fashion, as the title translates. The show had 13 designers representing various regions in the United States and Europe. The designers were Noishaf (Virginia), Sapphire Cordial (Chicago), Sara Romoli (NYC), Phalon D'shaun (Texas), Gwen Beloti (NYC), Sylvio Kovasic (Miami), Fulani (Europe), Dzhavael (Europe), Jixdaposed (Texas), Consciously Hip (Chicago), Runway Denim (California), Third Eye Brand (NYC) and DPRC (NYC).

Held at the intimate Westside Loft in New York and hosted by Dee of the Fuse Channel and Stephanie of Signature Hits Magazine, the show opened with Noihsaf, pronounced (fash-ion/back-wards). The Noihsaf Collection was a distinctly artistic expression of the modern woman and man. Noihsaf pieces included high draped collars, pencil skirts, dresses and kilts. Another designer Sylvio Kovasic, wowed the audience with gorgeous evening gowns and dresses. DPRC closed the show colourfully displaying their fun t-shirts; truly concluding where we are as we rise in fashion.

NYFC's Rose a la Mode show celebrated the future of fashion while paying homage to the past designs that inspired these emerging designers so well. According to NYFC CEO Ken Lockhart, as fashion continues to rise NYFC will broadcast the designers who aide in that development.

Oh and the celebrity appearances? I noticed Q from Day26 and Rabbit from reality TV "Real Chance at Love". With plenty of press and cameras flashing, I mingled with Oprah's personal stylist and drank free Nuvo, free Toma Vodka and ate free Wine Sorbet. I had a blast!
NYFC will be holding their second annual "Clash of the Coutures" show during the next New York Fashion Week (late August, early September).
