To us, we few, who have the privilege of choice I say wear whatever you like for as Lennon famously said, "How does it feel to be one of the beautiful people, now that you know who you are?" On that note, enjoy your personal style. Have fun with it. We at 5point Mag applaud you. Here's some of our favorites...
To tell you the truth I didn't see Roc Nation coming. I mean I know Hov' is the God MC and all that but I already thought Jay was hitching his wagon to Diddy's music machine. Whereever he is, he's gonna be absolutely BEASTLY. Finally, Jay Elec get's a deal and his aptly titled track "Announcement" will kick you and your mom's candy ass. Pay Homage!
So, FlyLo has a new EP... it's awesome and you can have it here. On this EP he has a song. That song is called Kill your co-workers. And, in an homage to revenge fantasies everywhere the video is gory mess of robots and people (whom are stupid) holding signs (proving their stupid) so we don't feel so bad about the rampaging robot out for blood (cue music for technopocolpyse). All in all a bloody good video. See what I did there? Enjoy Mudasuckas!
Now let this be your song for the weekend..... other than PALANCE!!!! Hahahahaha... happy labor day weekend y'all! Shake your asses like you mean it! Oh and download it!
Stephen Fry is a small hero of mine. His work is constantly and consistently controversial while being understated and real. If you recognize him it's cause you've seen him somewhere before. He was the talk show host in V for Vendetta and also played Oscar Wilde in the film of the same name. If you've got a few minutes between partying like a rockstar this weekend.. have a gander. Tell him I sent you. Partake.
Do Drugs. If you so desire, of course. New visual snacks from MGMT for their song called Congratulations. Oh, and Do Drugs. Or, you could just become one with the universe or something but I feel like that takes a bit longer.
Rustie has dropped a new EP and it's doin me pretty right so I thought I'd share. Don't ever say 5point aint never done anything for ya. Pow!
This song and video need no introduction. No jokes on Ye's ego either.
As NyMag already stated. Ye. If somehow you read this and the internet gods are smiling at us. Come visit us. We don't have a conference room but I'll buy you lemonade and you can rap at Ebby's house. Ok. That's it. We won't sell you no schemes but the inspiration is free. See what I did there? Oh and your ego was sorely missed.
I'm a bit late so forgive me but I love Robert Geller's stuff. The end. P.S. - They had a pop up store in LES as recently as early this year but I'm not sure if they're still there. Either way find them and buy their stuff.
If you've been visiting us with any type of frequency you'll know we love BKC otherwise known as The Brooklyn Circus. The 'the' is important. There can be only one. Check out 'The Bearded Man' (the style icon) talk about following dreams and in general hitting life hard till it gives you want you want :)
I've been up on Dom for a minute and the dude continues to only get better and better with time. Check out this video.. the song is hard, the video is clean and applaud that man for the OG infrared 6's. Ow!
Ok... trying to get hi at work without all that inhaling? Watch this video. FlyLo at his absolute Finest!
The official visuals for Cee Lo's cover of Band of Horses song "No One's Gonna Love You" and as you might have guessed they're fairly stunning. Sort of On the Road meets 808's and Heartbreak. Not a bad mix at all... Partake!
Um by now you should also know that I love me some J*Davey and I had the pleasure of seeing them this past tuesday at S.O.B's in the city. It was my homegirls 21st bday and what a bday it was! We got to meet the band and everything...they were cool as hell and we also said hello to Muhsinah and Mec J. Zilla. Not a bad night at all. Enjoy the video. Vid via BlindI
Y'all know I love me some Janelle Monae so no need for me to talk my shit. Enjoy and if your not up on her.. get hip.
He went HAM on this one!! This should have been the performance for MJ last year!! Partake!
Megan Fox has become, in some ways, a victim of the relentless Hollywood machine and is sort of branching out you know? Trying to contain cliche self loathing, or the appearance of self loathing, and releasing it in some victimorials that say something. I mean, really really say something about how fake Hollywood is. Or, maybe she's talking about how fake we all are for being inclined to fits of fancy because she walks into a restaurant or has one hair out of place. It sure is tough being a doll isn't it? No one ever really appreciates you when your not standing still.
Um so, this vid is from Cubic Zirconia for their single Black and Blue and well... um.... it's what any good night should consist of. Enjoy :)
Did I mention new Outkast? NEW EFFIN OUTKAST!!!!
Theophilus London directed by Vashtie. New single entitled I Want You. Enjoy.
I love Flying Lotus... like I want dude to be the best man at my wedding. And we'll wear Sun Ra hats made of space dust and he can lead a 56 group Orchestra in a rendition of David Bowie's Space Oddity while my outta this world future future strolls down the aisle. Did you see what I did there? Partake!
New J*Davey! Mannnnn these folks are always right on time. And they'll be in town for Afro Punk this year!! Check out their new joint.. Lazy Daze. Partake!
Listen... this is dub tunery at its finest... Partake!!!
