On November 3rd 2009, the second album from Major recording artist Ryan Leslie entitled “Transition” will be released,
and the expectation for this album is beyond high. This Harvard scholar otherwise known as “R-Les” has a strong momentum going into his second project and the fourth quarter of the album sales season which is otherwise known as the Christmas season. Thanks to Ryan's online presences and strong connections with other major artists doing such things as features and production work, R-Les has set the stage for “Transition” to take place. Ryan Leslie released his first album on Universal Motown on February 10th 2009 and it was self titled “Ryan Leslie.” This particular album was written and produced by Ryan Leslie, showing the versatility and skill in which Ryan brings to the table. The music label released three official singles off the album “Diamond Girl”, “Addiction”, and “How it was supposed to be”. These three singles were the Airport Towers that gave R-Les the green light to take off. Now coming with his new album nine months apart from his first album his fans and his critics look to see growth, originality, and the different elements that this strong-minded individual will bring to the ears of the masses.
R-Les has made it known that the album is based on a true story, which brings a sense of reality, creativity, and authenticity to the thought process as we listen to his album. “Transition” will have eleven tracks on the album which is one track shy of his last 12 song album, and will be written and produced by R-Les himself just as the last album. Not only is Ryan releasing “Transition” nine months from his last artistic piece, he is also releasing a documentary-style film on the making of “Transition”. The documentary will exhibit a forum for those wanting to know how the album was made, giving an extensive look into Ryan's mind and heart during the process and creation of “Transition”. This documentary will be interesting to see because it will give us a front row view of an artistically musical Genius painting a portrait for those to interpret and understand.

The first single released off the album in the month of July 2009 was “Your not my girl” and shortly after was the world premiere of the video for the song. The video displayed an always trendy and stylish Ryan Leslie playing his Piano and also performing in front of a band. One thing you must pay attention to in the video is the use of instruments. Ryan is a real advocate for the use of instruments, which are the key staples to making a good song. You must also pay attention to the theme in which Ryan seems to be setting for the album. It almost seems like he is setting a Matrix feel to the album with the green background and bright white light blocking the eyes of the women in the video and in his album cover. Only time will tell how the general public will receive this album, but one thing is for sure Ryan is bringing exceptional work that is worth the purchase of the buyers. The first single off the album gives us just a sample of the main dish that R-Les is about to serve the general public.
