NEXT UP: Jay Electronica!
If Hip-Hop is dead then “Jay Electronica” is the sign of a Resurrection that is assured to come just as night and day. “Electronica” is a very unusual and mysterious rapper and producer who seems to be more about presenting a story in the form of poetry and artistic sound that will open the mind of the listener of today’s hip-hop generation. “Eletronica” is a breath of fresh air to the game of hip-hop and has been in the rap game since 2004. It seems many are beginning to see the light that is shinning bright deep within the artist known as “Jay Electronica”. “Jay” was even co-signed to be “the one to listen to in the future” by the multi-platinum selling hip-hop legend Jay-Z on the very popular radio station located in New York City “Hot 97”.
Currently “Jay Elcetronica” has released two singles that has touched the souls of the masses across the world and forced many to get in tune with the “Electronica” movement. The two singles are “Exhibit A” and “Exhibit C” both are sure to end up being classics in the future, due to the sound of realness and lyricism that Jay brings to the table. Both songs paint a poetic description of where “Jay” is coming from, what he has experienced in his life, and how he views the world through his hip hop lenses. It is rumored that Jay is putting together an album that will come with footage of “Jay” on tour in such places such as Nepal, London, and Dubai.
For those who are curious, anxious, and want to find more material on “Jay Electronica” there is a mixtape out entitled “Victory” hosted by DJ Dub and Furious Styles.
This mixtape should give you a better scope of the type of rapper/producer “Electronica” REALLY is. The mixtape has 27 tracks that will enlighten your overall appreciation for the hip-hop culture. The future is promising for “Jay Electronica” because he may be the answer to a lot of what is wrong with hip-hop today, which is the lack of creativity, poetry, integrity, and insightfulness. Only time will tell who “Jay” will become, but one thing is for sure, “Jay Electronica” is NEXT UP.
